The Queen opens a conference on child helplines
On 27 September, The Queen opened an international conference on helplines for children and young people. The conference was organised by Child Helpline International, whose members consist of 168 helplines from 141 countries.
The international conference was arranged by Child Helpline International, this time in Stockholm in partnership with BRIS. One of the focuses of this year's conference was how helplines can give children strength in extreme crises.
The Queen opened the conference with a speech, in which she said:
We must do more – together – to ensure that every child has access to their human rights. The first step is to listen to what they have to say.
“As helplines in the world, you listen to children – every day. I thank you for that.”
