The King presents scholarships to researchers

On Wednesday 8 December, The King presented scholarships from the King Carl XVI Gustaf 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment to around 20 researchers.

Dr Eliza Maher Hasselquist from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences' Department of Forest Ecology and Management in Umeå received a scholarship from the King Carl XVI Gustaf 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment.

The scholarship presentation took place in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Since last year's presentation was cancelled due to the pandemic, The King presented scholarships to the recipients for both 2020 and 2021.

After the scholarship presentation ceremony, Professor of Science and the Environment Scott Edwards gave a short talk. Professor Edwards was the 25th recipient of the King Carl XVI Gustaf Professorship of Environmental Science.

The aim of the foundation is to promote research, technical development and enterprise that contributes towards the sustainable use of natural resources and the preservation of biological diversity.
