The King opens a section of the Sörmland Trail
On Friday 8 October, The King and Queen attended the opening of an accessible section of the Sörmland Trail.
The Sörmland Trail is 1,000 km long, and the most accessible section runs around Bruksdammen in Hälleforsnäs. The accessible section was originally opened in 2003, but has now been re-opened following extensive renovation work which included replacing all the footbridges.
During the opening ceremony, The King gave a speech in which he said:
Following extensive renovation work, this is now the most accessible section of the Sörmland Trail. Some of those who worked on this are here today. I would like to convey my particular thanks to you!
HM The King
The King cut a ribbon to declare the section open, after which The King and Queen were given a tour of the new accessible section.
County Governor Beatrice Ask, Chair of the Sörmland Trail Association Elisabeth Nilsson, representatives from Vadsbro Blacksta Scout Troop and invited guests also took part in the opening ceremony.
