Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear friends.
It is an honour to welcome you all to Rally Sweden and to Värmland!
You know, the first international Swedish Rally was held back in 1950 – almost 70 years ago. Today, it is one of Sweden’s biggest sport events. But what’s more important: it keeps growing!
Let me give you just a few numbers:
This year, a total of 67 cars from 24 different countries are competing in the WRC classes. And that, my friends, is an increase of 50 percent from last year!
As a passionate motor sport fan, it is a great joy to see so many talented and highly motivated drivers taking part in Rally Sweden. It means we have some truly exciting days ahead of us here in Värmland. But it is also a sign of a bright future ahead for the sport that we all love.
I want to wish all the drivers good luck in the competition – may the best team and driver win!
And to all of you spectators – be safe out there and respect each other!
And now, ladies and gentlemen: What you all have been waiting for – the Rally!
