H.M. Drottningens tal vid Jakarta Creative Hub i samband med statsbesök till Indonesien

Thank you for your kind invitation to the Jakarta Creative Hub, and also for the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating history of batik. A Unesco World Heritage since 2009.

In is truly inspiring to see how this initiative connects a unique cultural heritage to a modern day take on innovation and entrepreneurship. At this hub, creative ideas are refined into competitive business ideas.

While different in many ways, our two countries have much in common. Like Indonesia, Sweden has a rich historical tradition in design and handicrafts. Today, textile and fashion are important industries in both countries.

I hope that this visit will be a starting point for further cooperation between our countries in sustainability, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. I am convinced that we a have a lot to learn from each other in this area, as well as in many others.
