The Office of the Marshal of the Court is responsible for the Royal Family's official appearances and representation - preparing and conducting state visits, official visits, formal audiences, official dinners, jubilees, and municipality visits and more.
 

The First Marshal of the Court


The Office of the Marshal of the Court is headed by Lars Hjalmar Wide, the First Marshal of the Court. Supporting him are a Surveyor of the Court, two Court Secretaries, three Court Assistants and two administrative employees.

Coordination meetings


The King and Queen participate in more than 150 official visits each year. Invitations addressed to The King and Queen requesting their attendance at events are coordinated and administrated at the Office of the Marshal of the Court.

The King, Queen and Crown Princess attend regular meetings with the Office of the Marshal of the Court to plan and coordinate the Royal Family's official programme. Coordination is carried out in collaboration with the rest of the Court's administrative departments.

Ceremonial Household


The Ceremonial Household is also a part of the Office of the Marshal of the Court, which is responsible for the traditional ceremonial at the Royal Court, for example state visits, official dinners, formal audiences as well as royal baptisms, weddings and funerals.

The Ceremonial Household comprises the First Master of Ceremonies, the Master of Ceremonies, the Deputy Master of Ceremonies, Lords-in-Waiting and Chamberlains. They represent different parts of society and are engaged according to need.
 
A Surveyor of the Court at the Ceremonial Household conducts work with invitations and other related tasks.

Household and Linen Chamber


The Office of the Marshal of the Court also contains the Royal Palace of Stockholm's Household with the Steward of the Royal Household, the Court footman as well as additional employees when needed.

The Linen Chamber, which manages laundry and linen stores, is also a part of the Office of the Marshal of the Court.
