What are the wedding duties of the Office of Ceremonies?

Seating of guests in Cathedral and at wedding banquet As with all major royal events, the Office of Ceremonies compiled detailed plans on how the guests were to be seated both in Stockholm Cathedral and at the wedding banquet at the Royal Palace. The same applies to the dinner at Drottningholm Palace on 17 June and the lunch for visiting guests at Sturehof Castle on 18 June.
Provides assistance to Riksdag and Government The Office of Ceremonies remained in close contact with the Riksdag and Government to ensure that the seating plans were appropriately coordinated for those events that were hosted by the Riksdag and Government in connection with the wedding, and to ensure that the guests were not sitting next to the same people at the various functions.
Escorts guests to their seats The Masters of Ceremonies and Lords in Waiting together with the church wardens welcomed the guests to the wedding ceremony at Stockholm Cathedral and escorted them to their seats. Similarly they assisted with showing the guests to their places at the wedding banquet at the Royal Palace, receptions and all other lunches and dinners during the wedding celebrations.
Guard of Honour at Crown Princess Couple's crowns Two chamberlains formed a Guard of Honour at the table with the Crown Princess Couple's crowns, which during the wedding ceremony was placed at the side of the altar in Stockholm Cathedral.
The Masters of Ceremonies and chamberlains were also responsible for ensuring that the many guests were escorted between the Palace and Stockholm Cathedral and between the various halls and rooms at the Royal Palace as smoothly as possible.
Cabinet chamberlains and ladies-in-waiting assist foreign heads of state The cabinet chamberlains as well as a number of ladies-in-waiting and aides attended to the needs of the foreign heads of state, i.e. were on hand at all times to inform them about the details of the programme and escorted them between the various events.
