After the wedding, The Crown Princess Couple travelled in a horse-drawn cortège along the streets of Stockholm. The cortège route was 6.8 km long and the cortège itself was 400 metres long. The cortège ended with a trip on the Royal Barge Vasaorden. Some 6,400 people were participating in the parade along the cortège route, 1,200 of whom were representing voluntary organisations and civil organisations. In addition to the parade there also were 210 people from the Swedish Civil Defence League and Swedish Red Cross, who were manning first aid units and providing information. Twenty different bands were playing along the route of the cortège. Both the Navy and the Air Force were taking part.
