The Royal Stables are responsible for transportation for the Royal Court, both by car – and for ceremonial occasions – by horse and carriage.

Employees at the Royal Stables are also responsible for care of the horses and The King's motor and carriage park. Employed at the Royal Stables are the Crown Equerry and Head of the Royal Stables, Riding Master, Head-Groom, Jockeys, Chauffeurs and Court Secretary.

The Royal Stables are open to visitors year round for guided tours of the carriages, stables and harnesses.
