The Royal Apartments is the collective name for the palace's large state rooms used for royal receptions.

Still today these rooms are used for dinners, cabinet meetings, audiences, medal presentations and other grand occasions. On these occasions the Royal Apartments are either partly or fully closed to the public.

Aside from these occasions the Royal Apartments are open to the public a large part of the year – both for individual visits within normal opening hours and pre-booked guided tours.

The Royal Apartments consists of several floors and halls. A guided tour takes approximately 45 minutes and visits one of the apartments. If you wish to see more apartments at the same time it is possible to book a double guided tour.
