The summer palace of Rosendal on Djurgården was built for King Karl XIV Johan. Rosendal Palace is open during the summer months, with guided tours of the historic rooms. The palace remains largely unchanged since the time of King Karl Johan, making Rosendal Palace a unique record of the Swedish Empire style.

The interiors feature mahogany furniture and brightly coloured wall-to-wall carpets and curtains.
The palace is open for guided tours Tuesday to Sunday from 1 June until 31 August at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00. Our expert guides will guide you through the palace, detailing its history, its architecture and its interiors.
Products from the Royal Gift Shop with a link to the palace, the period and the collections are on sale at the entrance. Rosendal Gardens, including a café, are nearby. You can also see the porphyry vase and flowers beds at the palace's waterfront.
