The King and Queen host the second official dinner of the year

On Wednesday 13 April, The King and Queen hosted the second official dinner of the year at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
Guests included representatives from the diplomatic corps, the Swedish Parliament, the Government, counties and authorities, and Swedish science, culture, sport and business.

In all there were around 150 guests, who were received and greeted by The King, The Queen, The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was held in Karl XI's Gallery.

Seating arrangements


The King escorted Minister Maud Olofsson to the table. Norway's ambassador Anne K. Lund was seated to his left. The Queen was escorted to the table by Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, and Minister Jan Björklund was seated to her right.
 
The Crown Princess was escorted to the table by Minister Jan Björklund. Germany's ambassador Joachim Rücker was seated to her right. Prince Daniel escorted Turkey's ambassador Zergün Korutürk to the table. Minister Maud Olofsson was seated to his left.
 
Prince Carl Philip escorted Norway's ambassador Anne K. Lund to the table. Minister Maria Larsson was seated to his left. Princess Christina was escorted to the table by Germany's ambassador Joachim Rücker. Minister Peter Norman was seated to her right.

Menu


The menu began with Pernod-infused Norway lobster consommé with vendace roe ravioli and chives.

Grilled fillet of brill with mussel foam, puy lentil compote with Dijon mustard and braised mini black radishes was then served. This was followed by roasted fillet of lamb with thyme gravy, carrot terrine and crushed potatoes with wild garlic.

The dinner concluded with a caramel Bavarian cream served with lemon curd and sorbet.
