Prince Daniel visits Malmö
On Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 May, Prince Daniel visited Malmö, focusing on entrepreneurship and business.
The Prince was met at the airport by County Governor Göran Tunhammar, after which he visited Swedbank and its "Äntligen Jobb" project, where trainee positions are given to young graduates from overseas.
The Prince then visited Hövding Sverige AB
, where he was met by founders Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin. They gave him a tour of the company, which manufactures a new type of cycle helmet, and explained about the company's operations. You can follow Hövding on Facebook here.
The afternoon concluded with a visit to Cleantech City, a project run by the City of Malmö in which industry, higher education and the municipality are creating a green cluster for developing cleantech industry in Malmö. According to the EU definition, cleantech is all new technology that is better for the environment than the alternatives available.
In the evening, the County Governor hosted a dinner for entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the region at the County Governor's official residence.
Thursday began with a breakfast meeting on the theme of "Entrepreneurship as a way out of exclusion". Ljubo Mrnjavac from Rosengård Invest was the moderator.
The Prince then attended the opening day of Growth Days at Slagthuset in Malmö. Growth Days is an annual event which was held in Åre in 2010 and Gothenburg in 2011, and is arranged by Swedbank and the National Association of Swedish Savings Banks. The aim is to bring together everyone who wants to create better conditions for local and regional growth.
