On Tuesday 22 October, the World Child & Youth Forum held its annual partner forum at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, in the presence of The King and Queen and The Crown Princess.
Around twenty of the organisation's corporate and expert partners took part in the meeting. The speakers included the Chairperson of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child Kirsten Sandberg, the IKEA Foundation's Per Heggenes, CEO of ABB Group Ron Popper and General Counsel of the UN Global Compact Ursula Wynhoven. At the end of the meeting, The King and Queen unveiled the organisation's new name and logo. The new name will be the Global Child Forum. The World Child & Youth Forum was initiated in 2009 by the Royal Family, and is an independent platform for discussion, knowledge and interactivity based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The aim is that decision-makers from companies, states, civil society and academia should achieve more and obtain concrete results for the world's children through greater cooperation and coordination of resources. This is done via an annual forum at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, satellite forums, research and study, and an interactive online portal launched in spring 2014.
