The Queen visits the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

On Tuesday 5 February, The Queen visited the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna.
The visit began with a tour of the ECDC's Emergency Operation Centre, and Director of the ECDC Dr Marc Sprenger spoke about the work of the centre.
 
Dr Pierluigi Lopalco then gave a presentation about child vaccinations, Dr Marita van der Laar spoke about HIV and Dr Dominique Monnet spoke about multi-resistant bacteria.

About the ECDC


The ECDC was founded in 2005, and is an EU body that works to identify, assess and communicate current and emerging threats to human health posed by infectious diseases.
