On Wednesday 7 May, The King presented the Swedish Export Prize at Stockholm City Hall.
The Swedish Export Prize is presented each year, in recognition of successful Swedish export companies. In addition to the prize money, the winner also receives a specially designed sculpture by Bertil Vallien from Orrefors Kosta Boda.
After The King had had the opportunity to speak with representatives from the nominated companies, the ceremony began with a speech by Ylva Berg, CEO of Business Sweden, Jonas Hafström, the Minister for Trade's advisor on promotion issues, and Jens Spendrup, Chairman of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
Stina Honkamaa Bergfors, CEO of media company United Screens, then gave a talk on the theme "New digital video advertising: global sales without borders". This was followed by a talk from Lena Jonsson Näslund, CEO of SNÖ of Sweden, one of Europe's leading jewellery companies, on theme "From brand to export".
The King then presented the award to Bolon. The jury said:
"With a strong focus on design and quality to build the brand while concentrating in the long term on demanding customers in a specific market segment, Bolon has achieved a strong international market position. By taking control of the production process, Bolon has also shown other companies how successful brand-building should be based on a parallel focus on product quality, design and marketing."
