The King presents the Stockholm Water Prize

On Thursday 5 September, The King presented the 2013 Stockholm Water Prize to Dr Peter Morgan during a ceremony at Stockholm City Hall.
Dr Morgan was awarded the 2013 Stockholm Water Prize for his work to protect the lives and health of millions of people through improved sanitation and water technology.
 
Dr Morgan runs Aquamor, a voluntary organisation that works with water and sanitation in Zimbabwe. He has previously worked as Head of Research and manager at the Blair Research Laboratory, and as an advisor to the Ministry of Health in Zimbabwe.
 
After the award ceremony, a banquet was held in the Gilded Hall. The King gave a speech, in which he emphasised the importance of working together to ensure that there are sufficient water resources in the future. The world's population is expected to pass 9 billion by 2050.
