The King and Queen on a Scout trip to the US

From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 July, The King and Queen attended the 65th World Baden-Powell Fellowship Event in West Virginia, USA.
On the Friday, The King and Queen visited the Boy Scouts of America's new national Scout reserve, The Summit, in West Virginia, where approximately 40,000 Scouts were staying. The participants included around ten Swedish Scouts.

On the Friday evening, a fundraising dinner was hosted by the World Scout Foundation. The King is Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, which raises funds for the Scout Movement's international development. More than 20 new donors to the Scout Movement, or Baden-Powell Fellows, were welcomed by The King. In all, there are over 2,000 Baden-Powell Fellows around the world, with more than a hundred in Sweden.
 
On the Saturday, The King and Queen returned to the campsite, where The King led a "rocket" cheer from the main stage in front of 40,000 Scouts.
 
Lord Robert Baden-Powell (1857-1941) was the founder of the Scout Movement.
