On Tuesday 22 January, The King and Queen listened to the Young Music at the Palace concert in the Hall of State.
The University College of Opera in Stockholm and the Junior Academy Music School performed a tribute to Jean-Philippe Rameau. The soloists from the University College of Opera first year students were: Christina Nilsson, soprano Maja Frydén, soprano Désirée Baraula, mezzo-soprano Tobias Westman, tenor Wiktor Sundqvist, tenor Hannes Öberg, baritone Nils Gustén, bass baritone The conductor was Mark Tatlow. Young Music at the Palace is part of the Royal Palace Music Festival, under the leadership of Mats Liljefors. It was King Gustav VI Adolf who first invited Mats to give concerts at the Royal Palace of Stockholm in 1970, and these quickly became a great success. The Royal Palace Music Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2010.
