On Tuesday 15 July, The King and Queen attended the Öland Inhabitant of the Year award presentation at Solliden Palace on Öland.

The King presented the Solliden Award to the 2014 Öland Inhabitant of the Year, Arne Svensson. Arne is an athletics coach, and started running athletics activities in Färjestaden 40 years ago. The jury's reasons for awarding the prize were as follows:

"Arne Svensson is a true Ölander who has tirelessly encouraged, coached, inspired and developed thousands of young Ölanders at both novice and elite levels. He is a valued leader and a role model for new generations of leaders."
