On Tuesday 21 January, The King and Queen listened to a concert featuring the Junior Academy and students from the University College of Opera. The concert was held in the Royal Chapel as part of the Young Music at the Palace festival.

Young Music at the Palace is part of the Royal Palace Music Festival. It was King Gustav VI Adolf who first invited violinist and conductor Mats Liljefors to give concerts at the Royal Palace of Stockholm in 1970, and these quickly became a great success. Mats is artistic director of the Royal Palace Music Festival, and The King is the festival's highest patron.

Young Music at the Palace ran between 20 and 25 January.
