On Wednesday 25 September, The Crown Princess received Professor Torkel Klingberg in Prince Bertil's Apartments at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Professor Klingberg gave a scientific presentation titled "The plasticity of the brain and training of working memory in children".
Professor Klingberg gave a brief scientific presentation of his research within neuroscience, specialising in schools and mathematics, and how children's ability to concentrate and their working memory can be improved through training. He also addressed the question of how his research findings could be disseminated and implemented through a new foundation, to help children both in Sweden and in developing countries. The members of Crown Princess Victoria's Foundation for Scientific Research and Training also took part in the presentation.
