On Wednesday 24 April, The Crown Princess received representatives from the Nordic Capital Cities Conference at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
Stockholm's Finance Commissioner Sten Nordin began by explaining about the conference. This year, representatives from the Nordic capitals will be meeting in Stockholm for two days, to share ideas, experiences and good examples. This year's theme is "The growing city: the opportunities and challenges of globalisation and urbanisation". Discussions were then held on the development and competitiveness of large cities, during which The Crown Princess was updated on the situation in the individual countries. About the Nordic Capital Cities Conference The Nordic Capital Cities Conference is held every other year, and brings together politicians and officials from the Nordic capitals to discuss a topical subject. As well as Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Reykjavik and Copenhagen, representatives from Torshavn, Mariehamn and Nuuk were also invited.
