On Thursday 5 September, The Crown Princess took part in the Sustainable Seas Initiative seminar at Kastellholmen in Stockholm.
During the morning, there was a discussion on chemicals in the marine environment, and how the increased use of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other chemicals is having a growing impact on the Baltic Sea. During the afternoon, a panel discussion debated issues relating to different views of the work in the interests of the Baltic Sea, including questions such as "Is there coordination to reach out to 85 million people?" and "What are the concrete targets for a sustainable sea — have they been sufficiently clearly formulated?" The seminar was held for the third year running at the Kolskjulet conference centre on Kastellholmen in Stockholm, and was arranged by the Brig Tre Kronor. The Sustainable Seas Initiative brings together representatives from research, industry, the public sector and professional associations with the aim of saving the Baltic Sea. Here, the Brig Tre Kronor plays an important role through initiatives to increase cooperation between various players, provide interdisciplinary energy and influence decision-makers.
