On Saturday 18 May, The Crown Princess attended Allmänna Sången's anniversary concert at Uppsala University.
Allmänna Sången is celebrating 50 years as a mixed choir. The first women joined their male counterparts in the choir in 1963. The Crown Princess is a patron of Allmänna Sången. The concert, which was led by the choir's conductor Maria Goundorina, was Allmänna Sången's 158th spring concert. The repertoire included songs from the choir's previous concerts from 1963 onwards, and was followed by a procession on the stairs of the university building. This year's guest performers were the Rongedal brothers and opera soloists Karolina Andersson (soprano) and Henning von Schulman (bass), all of whom have previous links to the choir.
