On Monday 28 April, Prince Daniel visited ABB in Västerås.

The Prince was welcomed by CEO of ABB Sweden Johan Söderström and learnt about the work of the Process Automation division. The Prince was then given a demonstration of the 800xA control system and a crane system.

After Process Automation, The Prince visited the ABB Discrete Automation & Motion division and the Machines unit, where he found out how ABB is working to improve productivity. He was also shown the production of rotary machinery.

After lunch, The Prince learnt about ABB's research and development work. The visit concluded at ABB's Corporate Research centre, which works on the technological solutions of the future. The Prince found out about ABB's new two-armed concept robot, and was given a demonstration.

Finally, The Prince visited ABB Light House, ABB's new lab for advanced testing of power electronics.
