Prince Daniel attends the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation's anniversary symposium

On Friday 14 February, Prince Daniel attended the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation's anniversary symposium at Karolinska Institutet in Solna.

During the afternoon, The Prince learnt about the latest cardiopulmonary research. Professor Jan Nilsson from the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation spoke on the subject of the heart, Professor Göran K Hansson from Karolinska Institutet spoke about atherosclerotic plaquesexternal link, opens in new window, and Professor Göran Bergström from the University of Gothenburg spoke about the Swedish Cardiopulmonary Bioimage Study.

A panel discussion then took place, led by Master of Ceremonies Ebba Blitz and chairman of the research council Professor Jan Nilsson. The panel included Jan Andersson, director of research at Stockholm County Council, Nina Rehnqvist, Chair of the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment, Amelia Adamo, ambassador for the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation, Peter Honeth, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research, and President of KI Professor Anders Hamsten.

Prince Daniel is an honorary member of the board of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation.
