On Wednesday 3 February, The King and Queen hosted the first official dinner of the year at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
Guests included representatives from the diplomatic corps, the Riksdag, the Swedish Government, authorities, science, sport, business and culture, as well as people the Royal Family had met on visits.
The guests were received and greeted by The King and Queen, The Crown Princess Couple and The Prince Couple in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was served in Karl XI's Gallery.
The King accompanied the Speaker's wife, journalist Jenni Ahlin, to the table. Minister Annika Strandhäll was seated to his left.
The Queen was accompanied to the table by Speaker Urban Ahlin, and Minister Morgan Johansson was seated to her right.
The Crown Princess was accompanied to the table by Minister Morgan Johansson, and Australia's ambassador Gerald Bruce Thomson was seated to her right.
Prince Daniel accompanied Minister Ylva Johansson to the table. Journalist Jenni Ahlin, wife of the Speaker, was seated to Prince Daniel's left.
Prince Carl Philip accompanied Minister Annika Strandhäll to the table. Mozambique's ambassador Frances Victória Rodrigues was seated to his left.
Princess Sofia was accompanied to the table by Minister Ibrahim Baylan, and Speaker Urban Ahlin was seated to her right.
Shellfish terrine with fennel salad,
rye bread crisp and pomegranate vinaigrette
Butter-baked char with mussel ragout, puy lentils,
mussel sauce, fried celery and leek crisp
Roasted fillet of beef with red wine sauce, flavoured with smoked ox marrow,
onion compote and potato purée with browned butter and shallots
Calvados flambéed pear with caramel Bavarian cream,
yoghurt ice cream, salted almonds and browned meringue biscuits
