On Tuesday 3 December, The King hosted the second official dinner of the year.
Guests included representatives from the diplomatic corps, the Riksdag, the Government, counties and authorities, science, sport and business, as well as people The King and Queen met during the county visits carried out during the year in connection with The King's 40th jubilee.
 
The guests were received and greeted by The King, The Queen, The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was served in Karl XI's Gallery.

Seating


The King escorted Minister Beatrice Ask to the table. Minister Lena Ek was seated to his left.
 
The Queen was escorted to the table by Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, and Minister Ulf Kristersson was seated to her right.
 
The Crown Princess was escorted to the table by El Salvador's ambassador, Mr Martin Rivera Gómez. Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt was seated to her right.
 
Prince Daniel escorted Minister Lena Ek to the table. Minister Maria Arnholm was seated to his left.
 
Prince Carl Philip escorted Minister Maria Arnholm to the table. Mrs Patricia Guirola de Rivera, wife of El Salvador's ambassador Mr Martin Rivera Gómez, was seated to Prince Carl Philip's left.

 

The menu

Terrine of duck's liver from free-range ducks with Marcona almonds, figs cooked in port and chestnut honey
 
Herb-fried fillet of saithe with soy sauce velouté, puy lentil ragout with steamed vegetables, aged red wine vinegar and fried black salsify
 
Roast fillet of beef from Nobis Farms with shallot and green peppercorn gravy, potato purée with white Alba truffle and caramelised pumpkin
 
Arctic bramble mousse on a hazelnut base with macaroons, arctic bramble truffle and vanilla ice cream
