On Wednesday 13 February, formal audiences were held at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
The new ambassadors were Lameck Nthekela from Botswana, Jaroslav Auxt from Slovakia, Vangelis Vitalis from New Zealand and Aloun Angela Ndombet-Assamba from Jamaica. Lameck Nthekela is the newly appointed ambassador for Botswana, and most recently served as Acting CEO of the BEDIA portfolio of the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre. Jaroslav Auxt is the newly appointed ambassador for Slovakia, and most recently served as Head of the Office of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Vangelis Vitalis is the newly appointed ambassador for New Zealand, and is concurrently accredited from Brussels. Aloun Angela Ndombet-Assamba is the newly appointed ambassador for Jamaica, and is concurrently accredited from London. At the ceremony, the ambassadors submit their credentials — a document from their head of state — to The King, who then grants them the formal right to work in Sweden. Formal audiences follow a traditional ceremony. The ambassador is collected in one of the Royal Mews' carriages from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and is taken to the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The King and the ambassador then talk in private for around fifteen minutes.
