On Thursday 2 May to Friday 3 May, The Crown Princess Couple visited Västra Götaland.

The visit began at Läckö Castle, where The Crown Princess Couple and the County Governor and his wife were welcomed by the town band and hundreds of people who had gathered at the castle. In the courtyard of Läckö Castle, trumpeter Magnus Johansson performed Nessun Dorma, Läckö's MD Magnus Lönnroth spoke about the programme for summer 2013, Catarina Gnosspelius introduced excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Mattias Klum gave a speech. The programme in the courtyard concluded with musical entertainment from Robert Wells and Vocalettes.

The Crown Princess Couple then visited the Naturum Vänerskärgården — Victoriahuset visitor's centre, which was presented to The Crown Princess as a symbolic 30th birthday present. Here, The Crown Princess Couple each lowered a limestone tile into place. On a balcony, they declared the centre open by each hammering in a nail. The Crown Princess then gave a short speech, in which she said how fantastic it was to be there and see such a beautiful building, which had been given to her as a 30th birthday present.

During the afternoon, The Crown Princess visited Uddevalla Sim, where disabled children are taught to swim. The association has received support from Crown Princess Victoria's Fund on a number of occasions.

Prince Daniel visited Entreprenörsarenan, a non-profit association founded in 2007 by Uddevalla Municipality, the Centre of Higher Education in Bohuslän and businesses, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and thereby boosting growth throughout the Fyrbodal region.
In the evening, the County Governor and his wife hosted a dinner at the County Governor's official residence in Gothenburg.

On Friday 3 May, The Crown Princess Couple visited Fryshuset in Gothenburg. The Crown Princess Couple learnt about the work of the centre, youth unemployment, children's economic vulnerability and honour-related violence. Fryshuset in Gothenburg's new premises were opened on 18 April in the former regimental buildings at Kviberg in east Gothenburg. Fryshuset is aimed at all young people, with a particular focus on those who find themselves living in isolation. The organisation currently has centres in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, and is represented throughout Sweden via a national network of youth organisations.

After Fryshuset, The Crown Princess Couple visited Bräcke Östergård, a recreation centre for children and young people with disabilities. Activities are planned and adapted according to individual needs. Bräcke Östergård is part of Bräcke Diakoni's operations.
