At the Swedish Heroes Gala at Cirkus in Stockholm, which was broadcast on TV4 on 20 December, Prince Daniel presented the Champion of the Year award to Martha Ehlin, founder of the organisation MOD — More Organ Donation.
At the gala, six heroes were honoured within the categories Guardian Angel of the Year, Fellow Human of the Year, Champion of the Year, Life Saver of the Year, Lifetime Achievement of the Year and Child Heroes of the Year.

Prince Daniel presented the Champion of the Year award to Martha Ehlin. The jury's reasons for awarding the prize were as follows:
"Martha is a hero for beating cancer with five new organs and using her new lease of life to fight for more organ donors in Sweden."
Martha founded the organisation MOD — More Organ Donation together with Peter Carstedt. MOD's ambition is to increase organ donation in Sweden by improving awareness and understanding about organ donation so that more people in Sweden actively consent to become organ donors.
