Prince Daniel attends Samhall's Show the Way gala

On Wednesday 20 November, Prince Daniel attended Samhall's Show the Way gala, which was held at Rival in Stockholm.
For the sixth year running, Samhallexternal link, opens in new window presented the Show the Way prize to the employer and the driving force who have done the most to open up the job market to people with disabilities.

During the gala at Rival, Prince Daniel presented the Driving Force of the Year award to Pär Larshans from fast-food chain Maxexternal link, opens in new window. The jury said: "As Sustainability Manager for Max, Pär has made fantastic efforts to boost diversity in the workplace and to show the way towards work for people with disabilities."
 
The Prince then presented the Employer of the Year award to AQ Segerström & Svensson ABexternal link, opens in new window. The jury said: "The company has a well established strategy that at least half of the company's staffing assignments should be offered to people with disabilities."
 
Stockholm City Mission was commended for its Blixtjobb initiative, which offers work to people who find themselves in a highly vulnerable situation involving addiction and homelessness.
 
During the gala The Prince gave a speech, in which he said:
"Those of you who are present today — and particularly our award winners — show that people with special circumstances can be linked together in the mosaic of diversity that our working life is and should be. You inspire me and many others."
