On 2 June, The Queen was one of the keynote speakers at an international seminar devoted to the campaign against the commercial exploitation of children. The seminar was held at the UN University in Tokyo.
The Queen is patron of the organisation ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes), which arranged the seminar in partnership with the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, the Japan Committee for UNICEF and Yahoo Japan Corporation.

In addition to The Queen, other Swedish participants included ECPAT Sweden's Secretary General Helena Karlén, Detective Inspector Anders Persson (formerly of Interpol) and CEO of Net Clean Technologies Sweden Christian Sjöberg.

Japanese members of parliament also took part in the seminar, which focused on how legislation, closer international police cooperation and technology can best be used to combat the online criminal trade in images of sexual attacks on children.
