On Monday 3 September, The Queen attended the start of the Silvia Sisters training at Silviahemmet.
One hundred and thirteen assistant nurses from all around Sweden started their two-year training. A few days earlier, on 27 August, 35 nurses started their one-year training to become Silvia Nurses. On both occasions, The Queen welcomed everyone to their training. The Queen then had the opportunity to speak with several of the new students. The Queen learnt about the students' own experiences of working with dementia care and nursing, and what they hoped to achieve in their training. Today, there are 377 Silvia Sisters and 124 Silvia Nurses in Sweden.
