On 19-21 September, The Queen attended Mentor Foundation International's meeting in Washington DC, USA.
On the evening of Wednesday 19 September, The Queen attended a dinner hosted by Sweden's Ambassador to the USA, Jonas Hafström. Thursday began with a visit to the Cesar Chavez School for Public Policy, where The Queen had the opportunity to meet students and their mentors. The Queen then took part in a round-table discussion, together with drug prevention specialists. The afternoon began with a visit to Skanska Infrastructure, where The Queen met students and mentors who had taken part in Mentor USA's Authentic Career Experience Day in May. The visit took place at Washington DC's biggest construction site, the 11th Street project. In the evening, The Queen and Princess Madeleine attended Mentor Foundation International's gala dinner. On Friday, The Queen attended the Mentor International Trustee Board Meeting.
