The King and Queen visit Blekinge

On Thursday 13 September, The King and Queen visited Sölvesborg in Blekinge.
Hundreds of well-wishers and Sölvesborg Music School had gathered on the square to welcome The King and Queen.
 
The day began with a visit to the Ritz café, where The King and Queen and the County Governor were met by the municipal council. The Ritz café and its owners Frida Antonsson and Mikael Svensson were recently named Enterprise of the Year.
 
The King and Queen then walked through Sölvesborgexternal link, opens in new window, via the harbour, to the new district of Ljungaviken. There, The King planted a Japanese ginkgo tree together with Chair of the Municipal Council Viveka Olofsson.
 
In the afternoon, The King rededicated the Eriksberg Game and Nature Reserve in Blekinge Archipelago. In his speech, The King said that Eriksberg offers a unique complete experience, with animals and nature, accommodation and fine dining.
