On Saturday 18 August, The King and Queen took part in the King's Rally on Öland.
The rally was first held to mark The King's 50th birthday, and this year's rally — the tenth in a row — started from the lawn in front of the Strand Hotel in Borgholm. The first stop was at Borgholm Church, after which the rally route continued to Solliden Palace, Räpplinge, Jämo, Himmelsberga, Åkerby, Glömminge, Algutsrum Church, Norra Möckleby, Långlöt and Bredsätra, returning to Borgholm via Köpingsvik. The rally ended at Queen Victoria's Rest Home.

The winning team consisted of Local Government Commissioner Lisbeth Lennartsson, Municipal Chief Executive Christina Madeling and her husband Stefan, manager Anders Nyholm and his wife Susanne, and driver Tina Petersson. They completed the rally in a 1991 London Taxi International.

A commemorative banquet was held at Borgholm Castle in the evening.
