From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 September, The King and Queen attended the 64th World Baden-Powell Fellowship Event in Turku, Finland.
On the Friday, The King attended a board meeting of the World Scout Foundation, of which The King is Honorary Chairman. In the evening, the City of Turku hosted a reception for those who participated in the meeting. On the Saturday, The King and Queen met Scouts in Turku, where a model camp had been set up. A leadership seminar on the subject "Scouting, a worldwide school of leadership" was then held, with The King giving the opening address. In his speech, The King spoke about how Scouting is the biggest leadership development programme in the world. The day concluded with a dinner.
