On Thursday 29 May, The King and Queen began their state visit to South Korea.
The King and Queen were welcomed to South Korea by Bae Jae-hyun, Chief of Protocol at the South Korean Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Guard of Honour. There then followed a reception for Swedes living in South Korea at the National Museum of Korea. The King and Queen were given a tour of the museum, where they saw several artefacts with a connection to The King's grandfather, King Gustav VI Adolf, who visited South Korea and assisted at an archaeological excavation in the 1920s.
