On Tuesday 29 May, Prince Daniel visited the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) in Malmö.
The visit was part of Prince Daniel's involvement with the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation, and was arranged at The Prince's own initiative. At CRC, which is part of Lund University, Professor Leif Bjermer and Professor Olle Melander explained about their research. They had previously received research funding from the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation. During his visit, The Prince was given a tour of the premises, met researchers and learnt about the latest research findings. The Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation was founded in 1904 as part of the battle against tuberculosis. Today, the Foundation aims to overcome heart disease and lung disease. The Foundation raises and allocates research funding, and raises awareness of cardiopulmonary disease. The Foundation does not receive any Government funding, and its operations are entirely dependent on donations from individuals and businesses. Prince Daniel is an honorary member of the board of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation. Find out more about the Clinical Research Centre here.
