On Tuesday 25 January, The King and The Crown Princess met representatives from the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG).
Secretary General Ilkka Herlin and Program Director Mathias Bergman came to talk about BSAG and its development, together with Anders Hagelberg from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In February last year, The King attended the Baltic Sea Summit in Helsinki, which was arranged by BSAG. Other attendees included the Finnish President Tarja Halonen, the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. The Baltic Sea Summit started in 2007 as a collaboration between all the countries bordering on the Baltic Sea. The aim of the group is to save the Baltic Sea, which has been severely affected by pollution.
