The Crown Princess Couple's third day in Malmö

On Friday 11 March, The Crown Princess Couple began their third and final day in Malmö by finding out from Region Skåne about European Spallation Source (ESS), MAX Lab IV and the construction of Ideon Life Science Village.
Research into advanced materials science, life science and energy will be carried out at European Spallation Source (ESS)external link, opens in new window and MAX Lab IVexternal link, opens in new window. This research will be of benefit and value to Europe as a whole.
 
Region Skåne also explained about public health initiatives in Skåne.
 
The Crown Princess Couple then visited New Media at Malmö University. They were welcomed by Vice Chancellor Lennart Olausson, after which Måns Adler explained about Bambuser, a service for streaming sound and video via mobile phones and the internet. Malmö University was established in 1998, and has launched the MEDEA Collaborative Media Initiative to help develop new media. Here, new services, products and knowledge are created.
 
The final item on the agenda was an information session about the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Southern Sweden, the Herbert Felix Institute and Uppstart Malmö — a new business-driven project to create jobs in Malmö.
