On Tuesday 23 August, Princess Madeleine visited Umeå.
The day began with a visit to the Barnahuset children's centre, where The Princess learnt about the work carried out at the centre. The overall aim of the centre is that children who are thought to have been victims of crimes should receive support and protection, all in one place. In the afternoon, Princess Madeleine visited the children's clinic at Umeå University Hospital. Hospital administrator Dr Per-Erik Sandström talked about the hospital. Representatives from the My Big Day foundation talked about the work of the foundation and the projects carried out at the children's clinic. The Princess also met children during the play therapy session at the children's clinic and took part in their activities.
