On Monday 31 October, Prince Daniel continued his visit to the USA with a trip to New York.
The day began with a visit to the Swedish UN delegation. Here, The Prince attended the morning meeting at which current issues were discussed. Prince Daniel then visited UNICEF and the World Food Program for a meeting on how the UN works with nutrition-related issues. Several members of the Swedish UN delegation attended lunch, including Margot Wallström, Ann-Marie Orler, Gunilla Olsson and Annika Savill. During lunch, an informal discussion was held on various aspects of the UN's work. After lunch, Prince Daniel was given a tour of the UN Headquarters, where he listened in to a General Assembly meeting on social development. In the afternoon, Prince Daniel visited Gotham Greens in Brooklyn, a large greenhouse, together with Minister for Agriculture Eskil Erlandsson. Salad and herbs are grown in the rooftop greenhouse under environmentally friendly conditions.
