On Monday 21 February, The King presented the Swedish Dairy Association's Gold Medals to 61 dairy farmers from across Sweden.
The Swedish Dairy Association's Gold Medal is awarded to dairy farmers who have produced milk of the best quality for at least 23 years. This year's medal winners come from all across Sweden, from Västerbotten in the north to Skåne in the south. The smallest farm has twelve cows, and the largest has 200. Three of this year's medal winners practice organic farming. This oldest gold medal winner this year is 73. The youngest is 46. The Swedish Dairy Association is a trade association that works on behalf of Sweden's biggest dairy associations. Together, they are responsible for more than 99% of Sweden's milk production.
