On Wednesday 17 November, The King visited the Nordic Battlegroup's Joint Action practice in Skövde.
The day began with a visit to F17 in Kallinge, where The King learnt about the Joint Action practice and had the opportunity to visit the MedCoy field hospital and the maintenance units. In Skövde, The King observed the exercise and spoke with the soldiers.
The Nordic Battlegroup
The Nordic Battlegroup is Sweden's contribution to the EU's rapid deployment force. January 2011 will be the second time that Sweden has been responsible for having a rapid deployment force ready for action. As well as soldiers from Sweden, the Nordic Battlegroup also includes Estonian, Finnish, Irish and Norwegian soldiers.
