The King presents the Polar Music Prize

On Monday 30 August, The King presented the Polar Music Prize for the nineteenth year in a row. At a packed Stockholm Concert Hall, prize-winners Maestro Ennio Morricone and Björk won awards worth a million kronor each.
Karin Mamma Andersson and Jockum Nordström had created the personal works of art awarded to the prize-winners during the ceremony.
The jury's reasons for awarding the prizes were read by Stellan Skarsgård and Björk's father, Guðmundur Gunnarsson.
Robyn, Barbara Hendricks, Ane Brun & Wildbirds and Peacedrums all performed during the ceremony, as did the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Hans Ek. The conductor was Jojje Wadenius.
