Queen presents ALMA prize to Kitty Crowther

On Tuesday 2 June, The Queen presented the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award to this year's winner, illustrator and authoress Kitty Crowther, at the Concert Hall in Stockholm.
Kitty Crowther has produced some 35 titles, published mainly by Belgian and French publishers. Her works mainly include her own picture books, such as L'enfant racine (2003), La visite de Petite Mort (2004), Le grand désordre (2005) and the books about Poka & Mine (2005, 2006, 2007, 2010). Kitty Crowther has also illustrated books by other authors, including Toon Tellegen, Carl Norac and André Nève.
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is for children's and young people's literature in the broadest sense of the word. Authors, illustrators, storytellers and reading projects can be awarded the prize.
