Princess Madeleine attended the formal gathering of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences at Stockholm Concert Hall on Wednesday 31 March.
Princess Madeleine presented the Göran Gustafsson Prize: the largest national scientific research prize for researchers within quantum chaos, rain clouds, molecular electronics, gene regulation and the immune system of the intestine. The five recipients share a prize of 23 million kronor.

During the formal gathering, Christer Fuglesang returned the Wargentin Medal, which accompanied him on his journey into space.

Pehr Wilhelm Wargentin was an astronomer and the Academy's permanent secretary from 1743 until 1783.
